Aug 21. Mechel Group forwarded a recommended cash offer to minority shareholders of British Oriel Resources. As Oriel said in a press release, the company plans to delist its securities on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange either on September 19, 2008 or around this date. As wired earlier, as of July 3, 2008 Mechel managed to consolidate 99.7% of the UK business' securities. Mechel's friendly cash offer to shareholders of Oriel that owns chrome and nickel production assets in Kazakhstan, as well as Tikhvinsky Ferroalloy Plant in the Leningrad region, elapsed on April 16, 2008.
